Don’t be average

We are all unique. Every person is special, with an own set of talents, ideas and passions. This is what makes us stand out from the masses. However, as we grow older, we tend to give more and more of that up in oder to “fit in”. We don’t like the social pressure of being different, we don’t like the struggle that comes with avoiding the beaten path. It is much more convenient to gravitate towards the middle and be average.

But why would anyone want to be average? Are we even aware what it means to be “average” nowadays, in a western society? As far as I am concerned, being average is the easiest way of ending up miserable.

The average American spends about 1200 Dollars on fast food each year.

When the average looks like this – why would anyone want to be part of that average? Learn to not trust the herd. In fact, learn to mistrust everything the herd does! More often than not, it is something stupid. More often than not, you can take what the average does, do the exact opposite, and end up with a pretty good version of a happy, fulfilled and healthy life.

Read as many books as possible.

Eat organic food, with lots of fruit and vegetables.

Get rid of your TV and minimise the time you spend on social media.

Don’t be average.

Exercise a lot, learn to love your body.

Don’t be average.

Don’t get peer-pressured into marrying the first person who will have you.

Don’t be average.

Love your work. Do something that matters to you.

Don’t be average.

Break out of whatever is stopping you from being unique and driven and passionate.
